Appliance selections were pretty important in this 1950’s beach house renovation and choosing the wrong style of appliances could either make or break a good design.
The owners of this light, bright and airy kitchen wanted a modern renovation that retained the home’s original retro aesthetics but embraced today’s technology.
The award winning built-in Victoria collection, in white, was the perfect fit for their ovens and they opted for the Smeg Fridge FAB28 in pastel blue and also a cleverly hidden fully integrated fridge/freezer (Smeg SRI300BM) for additional food and drink storage.

To provide additional workspace when the cooktop is not in use, the 90cm SA190MW SmartSense Plus induction cooktop in white, was selected. It has six cooking zones and Smeg’s Surface Share technology means they can be combined and operated with a single control. Every part of the zone, right up to the edge, is usable without any cold spots – and any shape and number of pans can be used on the single, shared surface.
